POLICE SI /CONSTABLE

Police SI/Constable recruitment is based on the state level board and the selection procedure may vary state to state. Here we are specifically mentioning the details of UP Police by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB).

Every year the exam is conducted once in the year and the notification is released on its official website. Link of the notification will be provided here also on the Home Page. The UP Police SI Selection process includes Written Exam, Document Verification, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Skill Test/ Type Test/steno test, and Medical Examination.

1. ELIGIBILITY

(a) AGE LIMIT

For SI – The minimum age limit is 21 to 28 years. This is the general age limit criteria. However, candidates belonging to the reserved category have been provided age relaxation as per the government rules.

For Constable – An individual’s age must not be below 18 and above 23 or 26 years, if he or she belongs to General (Male or Female) for OBC/SC/ST there will be an upper age relaxation of 5 years.

(b) QUALIFICATION

Graduation in any stream from arecognized University,

Minimum 25 words per minute in Hindi Typing and 30 words per minute in English Typing

(e) SYLLABUS

(i) GENERAL HINDI – Under the General Hindi section, questions based on Hindi & Other Indian languages/ हिंदी और अन्य भारतीय, भाषाएँ, हिन्दी वर्णमाला, Hindi Grammar/ हिंदी व्याकरण, Antonym, Synonym/एंटोनियम, पर्यायवाची, One word Substitution/एकार्थी शब्द, Comprehension/अपठित बोध, etc. will be asked. This is to check the language ability of the candidates whether they have the thorough knowledge of the Hindi as part of job profile of the candidate is to deal with people.

(ii) COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE – The questions based on Basic Computer Fundamentals, Shortcut Keys, Computer Communication and Internet, Programming Language, Application of Net Technology, Web Design, Basic Software and Hardware functionalities, Networking, History and Future of Computers, Algorithm, Flowchart & Number System, Operating System and Basics of Windows, Computer Abbreviation, Microsoft Office, Basic knowledge of Internet Use, etc. will be asked.

(iii) GENERAL AWARENESS/CURRENT AFFAIRS – General Science, Awards and Honours, Books and Authors, Current Affairs of National & International Importance, Indian Politics & Economics, Questions from daily life events focusing on General Science, Indian History including Financial, Social, Religious, and Political aspects, Indian Freedom Movement details, World Geography encompassing Physical/Ecological, Economic, Social, and Demographic issues. Current events of national and international importance.

(iv) NUMERICAL & MENTAL ABILITY – Logical Diagrams, Symbol-Relationship Interpretation, Codification Perception Test, Word Formation Test, Letter and number series, Word and alphabet, Analogy, Common Sense Test, Letter and number coding, Direction sense Test, Logical interpretation of data, The forcefulness of argument, Determining implied meanings.

(v) MENTAL APTITUDE/IQ TEST/REASONING – The Mental Aptitude Test assesses cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills, covering topics like Logical Diagrams, Symbol- Relationship Interpretation, Codification Perception Test, Word Formation Test, Letter and number series, Analogy, and more. The Intelligence Quotient Test focuses on Relationship and Analogy, Series Completion, Coding-Decoding, Direction Sense, Blood Relation, Alphabet Problems, Venn Diagrams, Mathematical ability, and more. In the Reasoning section, candidates are evaluated on Visual memory, Discrimination, Analogies, Differences, Space visualization, Observation, Relationships, Arithmetical reasoning, Verbal and figure classification, Problem-solving, and Decision-making, among other areas.

2. HOW TO APPLY

Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for the UP SI Vacancy on the official website:

(i) Visit the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) at https://uppbpb.gov.in/.

(ii) Now, on the homepage, under the “Popular Recruitment” section, click on ” Direct recruitment to the posts of Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (Clerk) and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (Accounts).

(iii) You will be redirected to the Registration Page, wherein you will have to enter your credentials such as phone number, email ID, and other details.

(iv) After registration, you will be redirected to the online application form.

(v) Fill out the application form, by uploading the required documents, and at the end, pay the application fee.

(vi) Submit the form and take a printout of it.
